The Art in Connection

Don’t worry, I’m not talking highfalutin Art here, and I don’t mean a superficial connection nor a soul mate situation, but something which lies in between. In a warm and cozy atmosphere, my workshops promote connection through conversation and expression through creativity. Moments of reflecting, writing, listening, crafting and sharing whilst being upheld by the rest of the group is what I’m after and is also where I believe vulnerability lies.

The matters at hand can be grounded, intimate, frank and perhaps urgent. They can be absurd, hilarious, informative and light. Chances are you will find yourselves smack dab in the middle of a meaningful exchange, a scarce commodity in these soloistic, social media days, and that is exactly what I’m hoping you find here.

workshop atmosphere

There are two kinds of workshops I will lead. Creative workshops and Self exploratory workshops.

Creative workshops are ‘doing’ workshops, whereby making a personal and often functional thing for your house or to gift is the end product: A height stick, a collage, an agenda etc. The by product will be connections forged and conversations held between instruction and completion. We will munch over different conversational topics aided by prompt cards.

Self exploratory workshops concentrate more on introspect, using creativity to harness ideas or come closer to thoughts and ideas just under the radar. Writing exercises will often be the creative medium of choice, along with collages and drawing. I share the stories and theories which made me sit up and pay attention, which help me navigate life more easily. One of those theories is that when it comes to understanding yourself and your life, the real seven league bootsteps come by being with others, and having their lives resonate with yours. In that resonation new paths appear and the travelling becomes way less lonesome.
